This November, the seventh annual OnlyWatch auction will take place in Geneva on the 11th of the month. The event is one that pulls the finest watch brands in the world together for charity, as each participating brand (or company) donates a single one-off watch that goes up for charity auction. OnlyWatch is organized by
Monaco Association against Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, and the auction is led by Christie’s auction house.
This year for the first time, in addition to individual participating brands, we are seeing some unusual collaborations for the auction—some are partnerships amongst watch brands, others are with artists, and still others are among watch makers and watch schools. Additionally, in some cases, the brand is also inviting the winning bidder of its timepiece to attend a special event or meet with a brand ambassador to heighten interest in, and bids for, certain watches in general and the auction as a whole.
World Tour of OnlyWatch 2017 Watches
Adding to the excitement, there will be a promotional world tour exhibition where visitors and collectors can view the timepieces up for auction in different cities around the globe between September and the November 11 auction date. The first exhibition takes place in Monaco at the Monaco Yacht Show beginning September 27. And is followed by a tour in Bangkok, Singapore, Dubai, Hong Kong, Taipei, New York, Los Angeles and, last but certainly not least, Geneva.
