In 2024, Jaeger-LeCoultre is enhancing its Polaris collection with new models and dial colors, combining sporty elegance with high functionality. The centerpiece of this year’s release is the Polaris Geographic, a travel timepiece featuring the brand’s signature Geographic complication, alongside refreshed dial designs for the Polaris Date and Polaris Perpetual Calendar.
The Polaris Geographic redefines travel watches with a complication that displays a second time zone, a 24-hour night and day indicator, and a city name display for 24 major time zones. Travelers can set the second time zone by location, with the corresponding time shown automatically. This model has a gradient ocean-grey lacquer dial, reminiscent of the sea on a cloudy day, and is encased in steel. Its caliber 939 offers a 70-hour power reserve, visible through the sapphire crystal case-back. The watch comes with interchangeable black rubber and blue-grey canvas straps, making it versatile for various styles and occasions.
In addition to the Geographic, the Polaris Date now features a gradient ocean-grey dial that enhances its modern design. First introduced in 2018, the Polaris Date reflects the design heritage of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s 1960s diving watches. Powered by the automatic Caliber 899, it offers a 70-hour power reserve and is water-resistant to 20 bar. It is presented on a textured rubber strap, easily interchangeable with other options from the Polaris range.
The Polaris Perpetual Calendar, introduced in 2022, has received a sophisticated update with a new gradient green lacquer dial. Encased in pink gold, this model combines elegance with one of horology’s most complex complications. The perpetual calendar mechanism, powered by the automatic Caliber868, ensures accurate date display, adjusting for the varying lengths of months and leap years, requiring no manual correction until 2100. The dial features three sub-dials for date, day, and month, balanced by a moon-phase display. This model also includes an interchangeable strap system with options in black alligator and textured dark green rubber.
Jaeger-LeCoultre’s meticulous craftsmanship is evident in the intricate lacquer dial process, involving multiple layers of color and translucent lacquer, polished to perfection. The new Polaris models embody the brand’s commitment to blending mechanical excellence with contemporary design, making them perfect companions for everyday adventures and refined occasions alike.
